Our sessions
Session Information
Please kindly wait outside to drop-off/collect your child until staff open the door. It is important that you collect your child promptly at the end of a session as arriving late can be very upsetting for a child when they see their friends leave. You may also incur a late collection charge since staff will need to be deployed to stay with uncollected children (please see our specific fees policy).
Children at Pinewood Family Group Pre-school will be working within the EYFS curriculum. Learning and Development is play-based and subject to the legal requirements of the ’Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage’. Our sessions are organised so that children can enjoy a variety of child-initiated and adult-led activities.
These always take account of children’s needs, abilities and changing energy levels throughout the day. The pre-school makes provision for children who sometimes need to rest or take part in quiet when necessary. Our large, outdoor space offers a range of activities for children who choose/or prefer to learn outside, and can support children’s health and wellbeing, physical development and their knowledge of the world around them.
We are open during Hampshire school term times and have five INSET/closure days during the school year for the purposes of staff training. We will always endeavour to give you as much notice as possible when organising these days.
Important note: our INSET/closure days are not always the same as Pinewood Infant School. Please refer to the pre-school website/calendar for more details.
We offer a stay-and-play service, providing flexible childcare. On occasion we have spaces available due to holiday or prolonged absence. We offer these places on a daily basis at an hourly rate of £6.90, lunch club at £3.00 and breakfast club at £4.00. If you are interested, please contact the Pre-School Manager for information on available days and spaces.
